Saturday has always been short game practice day. Today is no different. Matt doing short game drills and games designed to sharpen his touch and increase his confidence. He spends a good 3-4 hours in the morning before the heat working hard. Matthew’s dog Red came along to keep us company.

After checking the statistics of 2016 Starburst Junior Classic, we found that his short game was the culprit, in particularly his chipping. Brad got to work immediately to remedy the problem. Matt worked hard today for 2 hours on his chipping and up / down drills.
Matthew’s game is getting to the point where there is not much to fix technically. Sure there are things that need to be improved, but nothing big. Matthew hit some balls today and did some putting drills. He hooked up with Skyler for a 9 hole putting contest, loser does push ups. He lost by 2 :/
Being Easter weekend, there are no tournaments on the books, so back to our normal Saturday routine of short game practice. Matt hit the arc and 5 foot puts then proceeded to do 10 foot drills around the hole.

An unusual off day on the weekend. Went and practiced putting for about an hour. Matthew working on his tempo and keeping the shoulders moving. Lag putts from 30 feet.

Matthew had his weekly lesson scheduled but was not able to complete. So we worked on some distance control shots until it was dark.
Matt continuing to work on his short game, had some trouble focusing this morning and had to remind him what he was doing there and why he was doing it. He settled down and got his work in.
