Matt unfortunately got the flexibility genes from his father, thus despite being in very good shape he is tight as a drum. 7 years old and can’t touch his toes. He will have to fight this his entire life.
Matt had another lesson today and worked on his setup and ball striking. Was able to hit 5 solid sandwedges in a row.
More lag putting practice for Matt today. Winds were blowing about 25mph so just about only thing we could do. He made 5 15-20 footers today while lag putting.
Registration Completed. Hopefully Matt can improve on his showing last year. 6/11/14 at San Pedro.
Well it has been posted to the refrigerator so it must be official! Matt will be competing in 7 STPGA Little Linkster events and 2 city championships this summer. He will begin again this year with the STPGA 5 hole modified, but I’m sure they will quickly move him up to the 9 hole modified […]
Matthew is still working on the game, improvements are happening, slowly but coming along.
He is learning that he has to make decisions regarding the line he will putt on. Slow going.
Matt lost the chipping and the putting contest to Sayers, so he decided to race her to save some face. Little does he know that, she has her own agenda.
Matt and Sayers working on distance control with the wedges.
Working on sand play. He’s trying not to lean back on them and lift them into the air. It is naturally move, so work is needed.
Matthew working on his alignment and being able to point the line on his ball to the locations that he wants the putt to go.
Mat working on his distance control in regards to chipping. We needed a way to have a controlled distance (without using verbiage about yardage) so we came up with a small, medium and large chip (5, 10, 15 yard). Matt is here working on his small and medium chip distance control.
Matt has been working hard on his setup and stroke consistency.
