Another week another tournament for Matt and the boys. This time we make the hike up to Round Rock, just north of Austin, for an STPGA Junior Tour event held at Teravista. We knew the weather was going to be cold and windy and prepared as best as possible for the conditions. Had a good warm up and ready to tee off. Matt started the day with a bogey on a layup hole and then took a double on hole two from a hazard. He failed to account for the ground being rock hard and rolling out, waaay out. There was probably 50 yards of roll on a driver, which is good and bad, very bad when it comes to dog legs. Matt struggled with the ability to turn, having 4 layers of clothing on and was subsequently going left on most shots and never adjusted. His approach shots were continuously short of his target because of the cold and the layering and never adjusted. We have to get his playing IQ up to par, his swing and mechanics are on the plus side now to catch up. The work continues…..
