If you remember back to last month we went to Matt’s club builders MK Golf Technologies for Matthew’s yearly fitting. 2017 Club Fitting We came away from that fitting placing a order for a new driver, a new 3 wood and 11 new shafts (irons and hybrids) and 13 grips. We needed to finish up the season and Matt had a golf trip planned to Houston after the championships. We went in to pickup the new clubs today and got a quick feel for them and made sure they were up to snuff. Since Matt’s last set of clubs he has gained about 10 pounds and grew about 3 inches, moving him up into Senior flex shafts, just below Men’s regular.
We purchased the following:
Ping G 400 Driver 10.5 Loft with a CB Alta SR @ 43″ with Iomic Orange 1.8 Grip
Ping G FW – 3W with Alta SR @ 42″ with Iomic Orange 1.8 Grip
11 Accra Tour I Series 70g SR @ -1.5″ from Standard Length with Iomic Orange 1.8 Grips
We had already extended his putter 1.5 inch.
This set should last at least 6 months if not the next year. Will all be determined by his growth rate. If he grows 3 inches in 6 months or gains 10 pounds and the club moves faster we may be back at MK for another fitting sooner. Now off to the range, with 1 month remaining to acclimate to the new lengths and flexes and to dial in the distances. Stay Tuned.
